Corten Steel Spiral Staircase : the only way is up

The majestic Corten staircase in the offices of the construction firm Govaere is a breath-taking example of craftsmanship. The spiral staircase was designed by Govaere, in close collaboration with architect Jan Demeyere and interior architect Stefanie Laporte.  In order to ensure proper assembly and installation, we collaborated intensively with Wico, the firm responsible for assembly and installation, on drafting the staircase. The metal was laser cut in function of the complex rolling of the metal plates. The need to deliver scratch-free parts made this project exponentially more complex. But we, at AM, don’t shy away from complexity. And that’s a great thing. Because when ambitious, creative minds joined hands with our expert craftsmen, the result was a veritable stairway to heaven. From the moment you lay eyes on it, its coppery glow draws you in, and you know the only way is up
